Site information
Privacy
You can read grouped.news without creating an account. This page describes the services and browser storage used by the site.
Accounts and site access
Clerk provides sign-in and account management. If you create an account, Clerk processes the email address and account details you provide, including information shared by a sign-in provider you choose. Clerk uses cookies and related browser storage for authentication and security. See Clerk's privacy notice.
Requests to this site and its service providers include connection information such as your IP address and browser information. Authentication services can receive requests even when you have not signed in.
Preferences on your device
The site saves your theme preference in browser local storage. Older versions may have left clock preferences, article-opening counts and sign-up prompt settings on your device; the current reader does not use them. These stored values remain until cleared or replaced; you can remove them through your browser's site-data settings. Clearing site data resets preferences and may sign you out.
External services and links
Where externally hosted story images are displayed, your browser contacts the image host. Those requests disclose connection information to the provider. Publisher initials are rendered locally, without requesting remote favicons.
Publisher, camera, social and donation links take you to other websites, whose privacy practices apply when you visit them. Camera links open on YouTube rather than loading a video player here. Donations are handled on Buy Me a Coffee; grouped.news does not load its donation widget.
Google Analytics and Rybbit analytics are not loaded by this site.
Email and the earlier waitlist
The earlier waitlist uses Resend to handle email addresses and send messages. Its registration service uses Google reCAPTCHA to check submissions. Creating a reading account does not subscribe you to that waitlist. Use the unsubscribe link in a waitlist email to stop those messages. See Resend's privacy policy, and Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for reCAPTCHA.
Questions and requests
Email [email protected] for privacy questions or requests concerning your information. Include enough detail to identify the account or request, but do not send passwords or other sensitive credentials. Emailing us shares your address and message with the recipient and the email services involved.
