Prosecutors in Tompkins County, New York, have reopened an investigation into allegations that a former Cornell University student was drugged and gang-raped by seven Chi Phi fraternity members in 2024. The move follows a civil lawsuit filed by the accuser, identified as Jane Doe, and public outrage over the initial decision not to pursue charges. The district attorney defended the earlier decision, saying the fraternity members would be in prison if social media claims were true.

Each outlet is read blind: a classifier sees its headline and opening next to the story's own headline, without the outlet's name, and scores how the report presents the story. A logo sits at the classifier's average reading, so it can fall between two levels. These readings compare coverage of this story only; they are not ratings of the outlets.
