MI5 chief warns of threats from Russia, Iran and AI

In his annual threat speech at Thames House, MI5 Director General Sir Ken McCallum warned that Russia, Iran and AI pose growing threats to the UK, with state threats caseload quadrupling in a decade. He said terrorist groups may use AI to create new pathogens or drone attacks, and warned British tech startups to expect to be targeted by foreign spies.
