Rebecca Louise Burwood, a former deputy manager at Bryn Yr Haul Care Home in Mold, North East Wales, has been struck off after swindling a vulnerable 99-year-old out of £750,000 between 2017 and 2023, spending it on cosmetic surgery, a house extension, a car, and a camper van. In a separate case, Ibrahim Yosif, 44, is accused of murdering 60-year-old Gary Piatek, who disappeared in Leicester in April 2024, and then moving into his home and draining his finances.
